Discover The Purple Cow Restaurant (Benton)

There’s something about discovering a local gem that makes dining out feel special, and that’s exactly what happens when you step into The Purple Cow Restaurant (Benton) at 20220 I-30, Benton, AR 72019, United States. The first thing that catches your eye is the diner’s retro-inspired décor-bright purple booths, chrome accents, and that unmistakable nostalgic charm that brings you back to simpler times. It’s the kind of place where families, friends, and even travelers off the highway find comfort not only in the food but in the welcoming energy that fills the air.

On my last visit, the restaurant was buzzing with laughter, the clinking of glasses, and the soft hum of conversation-a perfect backdrop for a casual meal that feels anything but ordinary. What sets this place apart is how the team blends tradition with personality. Their burgers are made fresh to order, the fries are crisped to golden perfection, and their signature milkshakes-rich, velvety, and piled high with whipped cream-live up to every bit of the hype. When I asked the server what made the shakes so creamy, she smiled and said they use real ice cream blended by hand, not pre-made mixes. That personal touch makes all the difference, and you can taste it in every sip.

The menu strikes a perfect balance between classic diner favorites and unique local twists. There’s something comforting about knowing you can find your go-to cheeseburger, but also discover a surprise like the spicy jalapeño chicken sandwich or the Arkansas pimento melt. According to local food guides, the Benton location consistently earns high marks for flavor consistency and friendly service, with customer reviews often highlighting the quick seating times and the staff’s upbeat attitude. For those traveling through the area, this spot has become a must-stop along I-30, not just for its food but for its lively, family-friendly atmosphere.

From a culinary perspective, the attention to ingredient quality here is impressive. Industry research shows that over 70% of diners choose restaurants that emphasize freshness and authenticity, and that’s exactly the standard The Purple Cow upholds. Their meat is locally sourced when possible, and the produce always looks fresh and vibrant. I had a chance to chat briefly with the kitchen manager, who mentioned that consistency is their biggest priority-they use the same suppliers year-round to maintain the flavor and texture customers love. That kind of behind-the-scenes dedication often goes unnoticed, but it’s the backbone of why this place has built such a loyal following over the years.

Families especially love the playful side of the restaurant. Kids get a kick out of the purple ice cream-yes, it’s actually purple-and parents appreciate that the menu offers healthier options, too, like grilled chicken salads and turkey wraps. A family dining nearby told me they’ve been coming here for birthdays for nearly a decade, always ending their meal with a round of milkshakes to share. It’s moments like that which make a local diner more than just a place to eat-it becomes part of the community’s story.

When looking at reviews online, you’ll notice a recurring theme: comfort, connection, and consistency. People come for the food but stay for the feeling. Whether it’s a lunch break, a casual date night, or a quick stop on a road trip, visitors often mention that the Benton location feels like home from the first hello. The staff seems to genuinely enjoy what they do, and that warmth radiates throughout the space.

While no restaurant is perfect, the occasional rush-hour crowd can mean a short wait for a table, especially on weekends. But if anything, that’s a good sign-it means people are willing to wait for something worth having. And in a world of fast, impersonal dining, finding a spot that still values quality, service, and a little bit of fun feels refreshing.

In every way, The Purple Cow in Benton captures what a great American diner should be-heartfelt, flavorful, and full of personality. Whether you’re a local regular or just passing through, it’s the kind of place that reminds you that the best meals are about more than just food-they’re about connection, community, and a splash of purple joy that lingers long after the last bite.

  • A beautifully designed place. We went during lunchtime and it was very busy, which is a good thing. The service was spectacular, and the food was beyond words. We were so full we'll have to make another visit to try the desserts. My only criticism is the food waste on the floor and the lack of cleaning under the tables, which is something they need to improve. Aside from this inconvenience, it's a very cozy place, and I recommend the terrace for large groups.

  • Fun place! Great for families. First time here. Kids loved it. Have adult beverages as well. So there is something for everyone. Plenty menu options. Fun purple shakes. Our server was excellent!!! Food came out quickly and everything was right. Had a margarita which was pretty good!! The food was plentiful and tasty. Good prices. I would definitely come back. My kids are fans of this place.

  • My family and I visited purple cow for the first time ever tonight, and this new location did NOT disappoint. Our server, Kaleigh, was fantastic! She greeted us with straws and napkins, never let us see the bottom of our drinks, and always wore a smile! Best service I have ever received. All 3 of my kids got a cheeseburger with fries, which they loved. I got the BLT with house chips and it was quite literally the best sandwich I have ever had! Our food came out quickly, even though they were busy, since we were there at 7 on a Friday night. We finished out with 4 purple milkshakes, which came out immediately. This was hands down the best experience I have EVER had in any restaurant. They have only been open for a month or so, but you would’ve never guessed it. Everyone knew exactly what they were doing. The restaurant was impressively clean and not overwhelmingly loud considering how busy it was. If you live in the Benton/Bryant area, visiting the new Purple Cow is a MUST. We will absolutely be back, and asking for Kaleigh every time!

  • The same best food and service as the Little Rock diner. Only opened a week ago and even though they were just training, service was great and everyone was super friendly. I had a strawberry milkshake, onion rings, fruit cup and the Santa Fe Chicken salad. Everything made to order and fruit was cut fresh. Yarnell's is their ice cream brand. All fantastically delicious. I hope they do great and are around for a long time.

  • We had a club with fries and dunks then cheeseburgers and drinks plus purple shakes. Love that they bring you the extra shake. That’s a nice touch. Do wish they would wipe the milkshake glasses bc purple shakes got all over us and the table. Food was better than expected. Great location. Kids really loved it. Neat coloring sheets they enjoyed that.
